Before you book your charter, please make sure to go through this policy thoroughly. By reserving a yacht with MarisCommonSport, you're accepting these refund terms.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Before Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Complete refund excluding handling charges

Processing Time: 5-7 business days

Processing Fee: £50 for transactions via credit card

Requirements: Must be applied for in written form through email or telephone contact

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half the total cost of the charter

Processing Time: 7-10 business days

Processing Fee: £25 taken from the refund

Stipulations: Justifiable reason needed; administrative expenses incurred

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: Refunds are not provided

Exception: Instances of emergency can be taken into account

Alternative: Credit towards a charter can be considered at the discretion of the management

Requirements: Supporting evidence required for emergency cases

Weather-Related Cancellations

Our Weather Guarantee

Your safety is our utmost concern. If our expert captain regards the weather as dangerous for sailing, several flexible options are made available:

  • Full Refund: Granted when rescheduling is not possible
  • Reschedule: Adjust your booking to another suitable date without any additional charges
  • Charter Credit: Issued, valid for one year from the initial charter date

Weather Assessment Process

We evaluate upcoming weather through the following:

  • Checking wind velocity and patterns
  • Evaluating wave dynamics and oceanic conditions
  • Forecasting visibility and precipitation levels
  • Minding Coast Guard alerts and advisories
  • Professional skipper's safety judgment

Decision Deadline: Calls on weather-related cancellations are made a maximum of 4 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Urgent Circumstances

We acknowledge the possibility of sudden medical emergencies. The circumstances listed below may be grounds for special consideration:

  • Unexpected disease or injury needing hospital care
  • Passing of a direct family member
  • Involuntary military duty or recall
  • Summons for jury service or legal obligations
  • Disasters impacting your itinerary

Proof Required

To request an emergency refund, the following proof is necessary:

  • Doctor's statement or hospital records
  • Proof of death, if applicable
  • Formal military directives
  • Legal notices for jury or court duties
  • Travel restrictions or emergency proclamations

Procedure: Refunds due to emergency are processed within 3-5 business days once appropriate documentation is provided.

Operational Cancellations

Mechanical Failures

In the event that the assigned yacht is inoperative and cannot be fixed:

  • Substitute Vessel: An effort will be made to provide a yacht of similar caliber
  • Full Refund: If a substitution isn't available
  • Partial Refund: Based on the price difference if the alternative yacht has different rates
  • Compensation: Additional reparation may be offered for any inconvenience caused

Crew Absence

On the rare occasion that the certified crew is not available:

  • Efforts will be made to arrange a replacement crew when feasible
  • Complete refund if the charter is unable to go ahead
  • Options to reschedule at no extra expense

Refund Processing

Payment Methods

Approved refunds are sent back via the original payment method:

  • Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
  • Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days

Credit Card Handling

£50 charge for cancellations made more than 72 hours before

Bank Transfer Handling

£25 charge for all bank transfer refunds

International Handling

Extra charges may be applied to international transactions

Charter Credits

Instances for Credit Issuance

Charter credits can be provided instead of refunds under certain conditions:

  • Late cancellation scenarios (under 24 hours notice)
  • If charters are canceled owing to weather considerations
  • Requests for charter rescheduling under personal preference
  • Unforeseen operational difficulties

Terms for Credits

  • Validity: Applicable for 12 months following the issue date
  • Transferability: Credits cannot be transferred to other individuals
  • Amount: Equivalent to the full price of the charter without deductions
  • Use: Applicable for any available yacht charter service
  • Expiry: Credits lapse after 12 months without the possibility of extension

Adjustments for Partial Service

Disruptions in Service

If the yacht charter experiences interruptions or ends earlier due to situations we can control:

  • Refund proportional to the unused portion of the charter
  • Credit for a future equivalent-value charter
  • Complementary offerings or upgrades as additional compensation

Guest-Related Disruptions

Should the charter be halted in advance due to occurrences related to guest actions or safety breaches:

  • No rebate for remaining time
  • Total charge for the service is still owed
  • Extra costs might be billed

Dispute Mediation

If you find yourself in disagreement with a refund decision, you may:

  • Ask for our management to reconsider
  • Supply extra paperwork or proof
  • Engage with consumer protection entities
  • Look into lawful avenues in line with the governing statutes

Our staff will acknowledge receipt of your request within a day, assess it in line with this policy, and convey a decision in two days. We'll process any approved refunds within the timeframe stipulated above.
